Skelan Dance the Buto-Buto Any Way You Like It! Baranggay Showdown



Skelan is having a group ballroom dance contest composed of pairs or mix of Senior Citizens age 50 yrs. Old and above to dance in any of the Skelan’s 6 ballroom versions of its jingle (Samba, ChaCha, Boogie, Tango, Rock and Roll and Salsa) with its PT consulted Buto-Buto signature dance moves of Skelan.

 Following lined up activities and dates are as follow:

·         Screening for group contestants – January 12, 2010

·         Recorida to 12 Baranagays – January 27-28, 2010

·         Barangay Showdown participated by Lolos and Lolas – January 30, 2010


Screening Mechanics are as follows:

  • Form a group with 6 members. Group members should be atleast 50 years old and above and may be composed of all males, all females or mix.

  • Fill up the application form (available upon request) and attach a photocopy of any valid ID or birth certificate. IDs must have birth date.

  • Groups may use their existing ballroom dance piece during screening. all performances will be videotaped and will be sent to UNILAB and Agencies for the selection of Top 15 groups who will compete for the Barangay Showdown on January 31, 2010.

  • Screening period is from January 11, 2010 to January 25, 2010.

  • For screening schedule, groups may contact On Ground Activation @ 895-2561 / 0915-9687917 and look for Paul Patrick Teh

  • The Top 15 groups will be notified by On Ground and will be given copies of the six (6) different Skelan Ballroom Dance versions. Groups must perform any one (1) of these versions during the barangay showdown on January 31, 2010.



The winning top 3 groups from the Brgy. Showdown will win PhP 10,000 each group and will advance to the Regional Showdown to compete with the top 3 groups of Cagayan de Oro for the Mindanao division. The winning group from the Regional Showdown will win PhP 15,000 and advance to the National Showdown to be held in Metro Manila competing with the winning group from NCR, Luzon and Visayas to win PhP 50,000.


The program is beneficial to the Senior Citizens of our community which offers info-education campaign about Arthritis and Rheumatism.
